Sweden, November 2, 2008. On Saturday November 1st a group of representatives of the Committee Free The Five Stockholm and other solidarity organizations marched in protest in the vicinity of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba. Among the organizations were the Swedish-Cuban Friendship organization and of Latinos residents in Sweden. The participants carried a gigantic banner and other placards and posters with slogans demanding the liberation of The Five and the lifting of the blockade against Cuba. They also hoisted our national emblem up to the main entry of the US Embassy, raising their voices to demand to the government of the United States to put a stop to their aggression politic against Cuba and to free the Five. The protesters released the following note with reference to this action: This year, for the 17th consecutive time since 1992, the General Assembly, the highest organ of the United Nations, voted by an overwhelming majority in favor of the resolution against the blockade that the United States has maintained for 48 years against the Cuban people. With reference to this international ruling, the Committee Free the Five in Stockholm, Sweden, summoned to a protest march in solidarity with the heroic people of Cuba. This action ended with a protest in front of the Embassy of the United States: Put an end to the criminal American blockade against Cuba! Free the Five political prisoners unjustly sentenced and imprisoned in the United States! Close immediately the North American torture center in Guantanamo! Stockholm, November 2, 2008
